Vintage Acoustic Research AR-2ax Speakers - $250 (Boerne / NW San Antonio)

Vintage Acoustic Research AR-2ax Speakers.
Working but can use some updating, thus the low price.
Covers look great for their age and the badges are present.
Cabinets are generally in nice overall condition with typical scuffs here and there and one appears to have some staining on top from a potted plant.
All drivers are present.
It appears a previous owner had the woofer surrounds replaced and the bass is deep and smooth.
The tweeters work, but I need to crank the receiver’s treble up - probably need the capacitors replaced.
Mids seem to play nicely.
I did not mess with the controls in the rear - I know from previous experience they can be intermittent at best or can fail altogether from age, so I left those alone for now.
Replacement controls and capacitors can be purchased on the big E auction website.
I did replacements on another pair of AR’s years ago with great results.
I had intended to do the same with these but no longer have the place or time.
If you know what these are, you know how much they are worth when completed and the resulting sound is quite rewarding.
