Job Summary: The Human Resource Generalist works in implementing processes and programs that advance effective recruiting and retention of the company's most important asset, our team members.
The role of Human Resources Generalist performs professional level human resources work and carries out responsibilities in one or more of the functional areas, such as staffing, employee relations, benefits, training, safety and health, and employment.
This role carries out administrative work involving the human resources functions and maintains related records; develops and improves policies, programs, and procedures to improve the effectiveness of HR and Operations.
The Human Resource Generalist reports to the Business Manager.
This position has no supervision responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the company.
Essential Functions: * Provide personnel policy and procedure guidance to employees and management.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and compliance requirements.
* Coordinate open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs.
* Educates management and employees regarding disciplinary actions, moves and terminations.
* Assist with onboarding initiatives.
* Create and distribute internal communications regarding status changes, benefits, or company policies.
* Administer new employee on-boarding and orientation.
* Generating official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary slips and warning letters.
* Resolving conflicts through positive and professional mediation.
* Coordinates the responses to unemployment claims, verification of employment requests, and other employee related requests.
* Schedules and facilitates HR trainings regarding Company systems, performance and compensation evaluation reviews, compliance trainings and Company programs.
* Responds to human resources related questions and issues from management and employees (e.
g.
, performance, discipline, termination, etc.
) to ensure accurate and consistent interpretation and application of policies and procedures and to maintain compliance with employment law and regulations.
* Expert ability to handle confidential, sensitive, and critical issues.
* Maintaining physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits, and attendance records across multiple platforms.
* Performs general clerical work such as data entry, filing, copying, mailing, etc.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field preferred but not required.
* 3-5 years human resources experience.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook).
* Demonstrated knowledge of the human resources field.
* Understanding of state and federal employment regulations.
* Understanding of personnel and compliance records management.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Ability to be results-oriented that makes a difference, taking initiative to make things happen, accepts accountability, and has a can-do attitude.
* Bilingual, preferred but not required.
